Musso and Frank's (1 Viewer)

Check his stories Death in the Afternoon (Betting on the Muse), My Friend, The Gambler (More Notes of a Dirty Old Man), novels Ham on Rye (chapters 5, 22, 26, 32, 39) and Pulp (chapters 2, 3, 14, 26, 27, 51) and poems Red (Septuagenarian Stew), Between Races, Inactive Volcano (The Last Night of the Earth Poems), A Great Show (Betting on the Muse), A Long Hot Day at the Track (Storm for the Living and the Dead).

He also mentions M&F in the script The Movie: "Barfly" and in a collection of letters Reach for the Sun (to William Packard, June 10, 1979; to Gerald Locklin, January 16, 1983; to John Martin, November 5, 1992).

I also seem to remember, it was mentioned in the interview with Gundolf Freyermuth on August 15, 1993 which became the basis of Freyermuth's book "That's it". But not sure.
