I've been buying some old, yellowed issues of CREEM on eBay, because it was the world's greatest rock and roll magazine ever, naturally. As I was reading the December, 1975 issue this morning I came across this letter someone wrote about Bukowski's CREEM article about the Rolling Stones. They sent it to Bukowski for a response...

"parsnip wrapped in zigzag" --> now there's a vocabulary for the foreign audience. I had to research. It was worth it :D

I always pictured him more like Captain Haddock!
Billions of Bilious Blue Blistering Barnacles !

Captain Haddock is one of the characters created by Hergé the man behind Tintin. The Adventures of Tintin are now some of the well known comic albums in history. Tintin has been able to shift over 200 millions books over his life time. Captain Haddock was introduced to the world in The Crab with the Golden Claws and was depicted as a feeble character who indulged too much in the drink. Captain Haddock's drink of choice was Loch Lomond brand whisky which he drank in copious amounts.
