Does anybody have a source of this quote? (1 Viewer)

'I wasn’t lonely. I experienced no self-pity. I was just caught up in a life in which I could find no meaning.'

I'm writing a thesis on Bukowski's search for meaning and can't find a source of this anywhere?

thanks in advance, i know you beautiful bastards will save me!

From a poem called "Where Was I?"

But it's in a posthumous book (Sifting Through the Madness for the Word, the Line, the Way) that was likely edited by someone other than Bukowski. So whether that specific quote reflects something Bukowski actually thought or felt (or wrote) is up for debate.

I wasn’t lonely.
I experienced no self-pity.
I was just caught up in a
life in which
I could find no
meaning.
