LP Reads His Poetry (1 Viewer)

You can also get as a cd. It's called "Poems and Insults" issued by Grey Matter. In addition it also contains 3 Bukowski tracks from the LP "A cold turkey press special" (This LP was limited to 500 copies and made in '72).

Yes, the cover is beautiful and somewhat original compared to most covers...Did you buy the copy on e-bay? If so, congrats!

Yeah, man,
I can't wait to get it.....
The seller had a Buy-It-Now option.....
And I jumped on it.

Think it was listed on e-bay for all of 5 minutes.....
It's good (but exhausting) to be in the right place at the right time :>

Ah, it's the LP, I see. I know the reading was taped because cirerita originally wanted to squeeze a few parts from the tape into the Buk extras dvd's.

Eric, when you get that LP will you be so kind as to list the poems / tracks on it please, as I want to see if it differs in any way from the Solid Citizen CD from the same reading.

I'd also be interested to know if there's anything special about the packaging - I can't remember which one now but I know that at least one Bukowski LP was supposed to be packed with some sort of fold out poster with the poems printed in full? Ring any bells anyone?

Yeah,
No Prob,...
The seller just ended it early to send it with my other LP  ,
And no,
I really don't deserve these....

I just got it,
And compared it to the list of poems from Solid Citizen on Amazon,...
And yeah, I think I've got 2 less poems than you with the CD
And the arrangement (and titles) are a little different.
I went to photo the album to show you,
And damn it!, the batteries died 2 pics in,
So they are recharging.....

Feels good to have this in my hands
(Yeah, we all know I'm goofy).

Nostalgia and/or (+) Technology

I got this LP because I'm nostalgic....
I knew the Solid Citizen was out there,
But I wanted a CD playing the crackles of the LP.
(I've got to find a record player now).

Anyone else like this?!
I remember in High School,
I had a friend who had the original Sgt. Pepper Heart ________ LP
And I had the high-tech tape version (Christ, I'm dating myself)
But I wanted a tape of their LP,
So got it, and listened only to that tape.

So, my point,
Would anyone want a CD of this Reading?!

Anyone else out there who wants the old movie with it's original soundtrack on DVD?!, or do you op for the 'new' sound version.

If so, maybe we can figure something out....
I will delegate the responsibilities to Cirereta :D
No, really though,
Anyone else this whacked!

(pics still forthcoming, them batteries are quietly humming back to life)

The LP listing

Here Hank Solo,
I'm too lazy to type it up...
The cover->

And the back cover->

So there is differences in the CD and this.....

Yeah. Thanks. My CD is missing 2 of the tracks on the LP.

The Life of Borodin

Hot

Otherwise, the order is the same. Of course, it might not be the same exact recording, as you'll see from the German documentary "Good to be Back" that there were several microphones and tape recorders lying on the desk when Bukowski was reading.
