New to Forum but not new to the Buk (1 Viewer)

Just dropping an introductory line.

How did I come across Bukowski? Believe it or not, my high school poetry teacher, Ms. Span, was the guilty party. That was 20 years ago.

In fact, the reason I came to this site is that I'm looking for a poem the teacher had us read all of those 20 years ago. All I recall is that it made reference to a 'little bird' who was trying to talk to the Buk before he was to go in to a poetry reading. At the end, he pukes and goes in to read.

I could be wrong about the particulars, I guess. 20 years is a long time and my memory could have put it's own stamp on that poem.

I'll probably have to post concerning my search in another thread as well, but hey, it can't hurt to include it here in my introduction as well.

hmmm... maybe on the hustle from Dangling in the Tournefortia. Although he uses the term sweet birdie to describe some female students at the college.
