I liked it enough to watch it again.
I mean as if those things aren't scary enough. Jeeze.
Withnail & I is pretty funny.. If you like Hunter Thompson, Not that it has anything to do with Hunter,... other then the same sort of craziness.. Oh and Ralph Steadman also does the posters.. the commentary is In my opinion hillarious ...
How to get ahead in advertising is pretty funny as well... my opinion of course everyone's different..
Altered was pretty good if you like horror/ suspence, it's low budg ..but worth it & very well done NOT slasher porn!!!
I have Teeth coming as well from netflix... sounds... exciting to say the least.. almost David Cronenbergish ha-

Wow someone saw this film. I worked on this film and never thought it would see the light of day. This was done by the same guys that did the Blair Witch project. It was their follow up movie. Nice guys.

sicko by michael moore. extremely distressing movie. i'll admit i cried. man, your health system is pretty fucked in the US. i know, i know - you only hear the horror stories, and nothing about all the times people are really well taken care of... but still. socialised health care is no walk in the park, but here in nz at least you have the *choice* - health insurance affords you a higher level of care, but if you can't afford it at least you don't have to live in utter fear of getting sick or getting in an accident.
the prestige much, much better than the illusionist but nothing spectacular.
second season of deadwood... it's got me hooked, unfortunately.

Yes, I thought this movie was Pretty GOOD! concidering what is out there now a days w/ all the slasher porn stuff.. (if your into that) the CGI wasn't over the top and the alien looked cool. :)

Just watched a movie from New Zealand, Eagle vs Shark it was like Napolian DynamiteBelow the equator. In all fairness it did have a better story. My wife and daughter pick the movies, they do good.

Re-visited Down By Law recently. Still love it as much today. I had forgotten that one of the three main characters was played by Roberto Begnini.
not an important movie, but fairly remarkable:
'The Bucket List'
with Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman.
Both of them very different characters, but caged together in a hospital room - set to die of cancer.
Then they start to 'break out' and do everything on their 'Bucket List', which is the list of things, they want to do before they 'see the buckets' (or something like that - I'm not that much into English idioms. But you get the gist).
A mature movie with two fine actors, old enough to act a decent part about upcoming death and how to handle it. (still not a GREAT one, sorry.)
ps:
if anyone here has seen it, I'd be interested to know if there was ONE scene, when you - all of a sudden and fully unexpected - had tears in your eyes.

there are some minor continuity-mistakes in it and even a Major one (when Nicholson rips the list apart and at a later point Freeman has it un-teared), but don't let that spoil it for you.

The term is "kick the bucket", meaning to die.
"See the buckets" however, is what Michael Jordan was able to do over and over again throughout his career. A :) for Bulls fans and a :( for Knicks fans !

Spanish movies are not my cup of chai, but I just watched a pretty good one: La Soledad. Grab it if you can: no soundtrack -well no music,- no computer images, no effects, and a good script. Many people might find it boring, but...

rewatched bringing out the dead (scorcese) - it wasn't until the end credits that i realised why the character of noel looked so familiar... he was played by marc anthony! he did a pretty good job.
also watched american gun - a very unsettling film about gun violence and its impact in america. it's kinda three separate stories, and they end pretty abruptly. very disturbing.
i also saw the assassination of jesse james... - really surprised by how lacklustre i found it. after dave's review of it, as well as another friends', i was anticipating a movie that would have the same effect on me as no country for old men, but that wasn't the case at all. i mean, good acting, beautiful cinematography... but it just couldn't hold my attention.

Can someone explain the appeal of this movie to me? On half a dozen different occasions I've passed it by on cable and thought, "Well, okay, let's see what the fuss is about. I'm just not giving it a chance." And every time I'm left feeling like I'm watching a badly filmed, badly acted, horribly edited 70's drive in movie.roni said:

My kids like the movie and it could be the allure of the split personality mixed with the anti establishment and secret society. You know that whole secret back alley thing. Besides it has Brad Pitt, Ed Norton, Helena Bonham Carter, and Meat Loaf with tits. The ending lost it for me. I don't think, for whatever reasons, Brad Pitt is taken seriously in some of his roles.
