Another double week?

10) Devo -
Maybe I'm high but this made me laugh so hard I cried.

Like I said,

maybe I'm high.

I think we're almost into week three of this week (someone with authority should declare "new week!" so we can get shed of this one):

by Peter Sellers

boner -- by Phil Ochs and Eric Andersen

6.
perhaps not the best song ever, but I liked it when I was 12. probably due to the dirty words.

anyway, I still like it.

and since I'm confessing my love for Canadian New Wave from 1980, I might as well call...

Bonus track:
can you tell I've been drinking? seriously, can you?

have you met Ben Dover yet? and his wife Anne? she's from Massachusetts.

Hey, it oughta be a new week.

1) Buddy and Julie Miller - Don't Say Goodbye

I could only find this track on Rhapsody... it's the third track on Written In Chalk.

Julie Miller has one of the great voices in contemporary country music. Her singing makes me melt.*

BONUS: The Band w/Emmylou -
* Literally... and it's absolutely disgusting to watch.

that Japandroids album will make my year end list. they're coming to town, but I think I'll give the show a pass. I don't want to look like a chaperone. ;) or like an old letch there to hit on girls in skinny jeans.

besides, I think the drummer will have a heart attack before he gets here. that's one busy motherfucker. never met a note he didn't like.

3. (not an Iggy cover).

What's the matter, brah! you will not see Japandroids?
You could be my youngling and I am going :D

I will see them in Holland on Feb.17th.

Get out of your slippers.

3.) by a kindergarten class. Song quoted by Bukowski at the end of "merry christmas" in Mockingbird. Lots of other versions that are more professional (Marie Osmond!) and precocious (some artsy public school choir) but I like this one best. (That kid in the front row, 2nd from right, has the same shirt as me!)

Another Christmas bonus: by the Monkees. Bukowski didn't own a t.v. back in the 1960s, how would he have been able to form an opinion on the Monkees?

I forgot it's a new week.

2. Silver Apples - Oscillations
bonus: Silver Apples - Seagreen Serenades

and since I'm confessing my love for Canadian New Wave from 1980, I might as well call...

Bonus track:
Well you could have chose Safety Dance
or Prism
Spaceship Superstar

Every night is a different flight to a different galaxy
Do a sold-out show, then I hit the road in my starship limousine

Get so damned tired and uninspired doin' all these one night stands
It's a giant leap for Rock'n'Roll...but it's too much for just one man

I'm a Spaceship Superstar... gotta solar-powered laser beam guitar
I'm at the top of all the charts on Mars...I'm a Spaceship Superstar!

On Mercury, they're crazy about my stellar rock'n'roll
And I always sell out in advance at the Martian Astrobowl

The fans, they swarm like meteorites to our concerts on the moon
You should have seen us knock'em dead on Venus doin' all our favorite tunes

I'm a Spaceship Superstar...gotta solar-powered laser beam guitar
I'm at the top of all the charts on Mars...I'm a Spaceship Superstar!
