Purple Glow Press is happy to offer David Barker's Paris Poems

Discussion in 'Support the small press' started by Black Swan, May 23, 2017.

  1. 24 poems from a notebook that accompanied David Barker during a trip to Paris a couple of years ago with his wife Judy.
There are only 26 lettered copies, signed by the author.
    These are the letters that are left: G, I, L, N, O, Q, T, U, X, Z.

An excerpt from a Bukowski poem is dedicated to Jan Hallers who passed away 2 years ago.
Jan and I founded the press in 2009 when we decided to publish Buk Scene.

It is $14 US and that includes shipping anywhere. Payable with paypal to babette@sympatico.ca
    Thank you for your support.

  5. Another fine work by our own Rekrab and by Purple Glow Press. Sorry to be so late in posting this. Also, it is a fine tribute to Jan.

  6. A few more folks here need to get lit. Which is rather a surprise to me.

  7. Perhaps Barker's burned too many bridges with his callous, withering insults and savage put-downs of everyone who dares to disagree with him. That kind of amoral, antagonistic, downright cruel behavior doesn't win you any friends. Shakespeare would have written of Barker's disagreeability and foul nature, but it was thought, and rightly so, that none would believe such a tale of evil. Satan himself recoils at the thought of welcoming him to hell...

    Maybe that's why.
