Seems crazy that Pyjamarama was kept off their 1973 For Your Pleasure album, it's one of their best for me. Really love Siouxsie and the Banshees cover of Sea Breezes though - prefer it to the original, from Roxy Music - the 1972 album.

Hey Ponder, I hear samples from Siouxsie's cover of Sea Breezes in there, how the heck, did you get this? - amazing!, don't know this band but they sound a bit like the Human League, nice.

<uk>I think Comsat Angels are Mark Kermode's favourite band. Now That's What I Call Trivia, Vol. 8.</uk>

Bit cheeky putting these two together, though I think Patti Smith got over her antipathy towards Debbie, what did she want her do - go around with a paper bag over her head? that she was drop dead gorgeous didn't make her any less passionate about her music. Anyway love them both and the Seventies rock and roll/punk scene was big enough for both of them - and them some.

Here's something I discovered a while back. Ginsberg words, McCartney & Philip Glass music. Pretty cool little garage-y type song.

Bought this while stopping on an Italian Autostrada once, just because the cover looked funny. Italian Hippies. No shit.

More for the lyrics than the music, I'll have to admit:

Listen up sweetie.
We all know that you're a beautiful girl in this horrible world.
In this suggestion of horror.
The portraits on the walls...
Look at their eyes, they always seem to follow.

Look at their eyes, they always seem to follow me!

Out of tune this tale of terror.
The solemn tolling of the funeral bells.
I want to know what's going on in that pretty little head of yours
where everyday's a Bone Palace Ballet.

Biting the flesh from your finger.
You know, I just can't help myself.
I wish to believe, but belief is a graveyard.
May this light never see morning, as finally one will not.
Maybe you're the one that's overrated.
Shriek and scream much too horrified to speak.

Out of tune this tale of terror.
The solemn tolling of the funeral bells.
I want to know what's going on in that pretty little head of yours
where everyday's a Bone Palace Ballet.

(Flowers of red, begin to bloom on the white sheets in her room.
Our lifeless bodies lying there rotting. For all of time, and eternity)

This morning I woke up, I rubbed my eyes,
and I took a quick glance around the room,
and saw what happened here last night.
There was blood on the walls,
and the sheets smelled like sweat and sex.
We have narrowed it down to a butcher knife,
and the mockingbird
with the blood.

Out of tune this tale of terror.
The solemn tolling of the funeral bells.
I want to know what's going on in that pretty little head of yours
where everyday's a Bone Palace Ballet.

So clearly the drugs did work and well into the next day too! I love this video, not least for the views of New York in the Seventies:

I wish to believe, but belief is a graveyard.

This line seems to be borrowed or stolen from the poem

"no title" pg 65 in What Matters Most...

I wish to believe
but belief is a graveyard.
we have narrowed it down to
the butcherknife and the
mockingbird.
wish us
luck.

btw, the strongest lines in the song. I'd be a little curious to read the lyrics of their other songs.:wb:

Was that one in Factotum?
I had forgotten. Great poem.

Can't move for sleeping bags and mess downstairs: 4 ten yr old girls rampaging through the house on a "sleep" over.
Got my headphones on and a glass of wine upstairs, - not possible to listen to this without singing:)
