I had massive stomach cramps from age 7-17. I mean almost debilatating every morning. Then one day about 20 years ago, I realized that I was on the top of my field. I know that sounds arrogant, but it's not my point. One day, I realized that I belonged. It was very cathartic. The stomach cramps left me for some 35 years, but alas they are back. The cycle is relentless.

Having a shitty day so finding this was a pleasant surprise. I've always liked Parker's work but it's been a while since i've listened to him. And of course nice to discover the obvious nod to Buk by naming the album There's a Bluebird in My Heart.

Saw Guided By Voices last night for the first time in forever. Rock n' roll baby.

hard to top that last post but...

this whole album's good:

.

this band used to perform at schools in toronto when i was a kid. wish i could've appreciated them back then.

I wonder if the wife has ever heard this before, I mean these particular musicians. She played the French Horn and studied music all thru university at Queens in Kingston. I'll have to play this for her. Cool.

i'd be surprised if she hasn't. she's probably seen them play.

they did alot to try and expose school kids to classical music. considering my whole junior high looked like the audience
from a KISS concert i'm not sure how successful they were.

i'd be surprised if she hasn't. she's probably seen them play.
She took a master class with the horn player. They played together. Of course she knows this music. It. Is anxiety inducing bc of the stage fright she'd experience before a performance.

didn't know - just read it - that marvin gaye played drums and piano on that tune.

This album has an interesting back story. Marvin was sued by his ex-wife and part of the settlement was that she got the $ for his next album so he wrote the entire album as a divorce album. Pissed & vengeful...Eventually it got lots of critical praise. At first it was a bomb. I like it. Just check out the track list. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Here,_My_Dear
